Thank
you for visiting First In Medicine – a unique medical education website
aimed specially at medical undergraduate students. This website is the
work of Glasgow University medical graduate, Dr Harish
Thampy
and has been made possible with help from the Medical Protection
Society.
The
main purpose of the site is to provide peer-reviewed teaching
material for medical students ie. providing educational
resources for students that have been written by
students. In this way, the site content is written at an appropiate
level for those sitting final examinations. The teaching material
included in this website has two main parts:
(1)
Clinical Skills Guides: teaching material related to
clinical examination technique. During his time as an undergraduate, Dr
Thampy worked extensively with his faculty in organising peer-led
clinical skills workshops which culminated in the production of basic
guides to clinical examination.
(2)
Summary Sheet Collection: an extensive series of notes
covering all major clinical topics required for final examinations. We
are in the process of recruiting senior reviewers for each section of
Summary Sheets so that all notes are continually updated and revised.
These notes are not intended to be used as a sole resource for
your learning. Instead, they are intended to supplement
hospital based teaching and the myriad traditional-style textbooks
available. Any mistakes contained in the notes are solely the
author’s. Please feel free to use the 'Contact
Us' form to provide feedback (good or bad!) to help
continually revise the notes
for future students.
